CYANOTYPE print number TWO

CYANOTYPE print number ONE

A year ago I went to a workshop about cyanotype printing. Cyanotype is known as the oldest form of photography and was used to document and collect images of plants and flowers.

Instead of printing on paper I wanted to know what effect it would have on fabric. And here started my little experiment.

Very happy about the first examplar:

The postnatal

After a long (too long) break and a baby I´m now back making fresh, friendly, practical boardbags. The first commission after giving birth was made by a wondeful couple in New Zealand. And this is the result:

Winter storm left me some birds.

This boardbag I made for myself or better said for my 9´2 longboard that urgently needed a good cover. Luckily I found some strong, golden fabric on my granny´s attic, an old curtain. Tricky to sew but definitely worth a try. Then I added some grumpy seagulls....and this is the result:

The French Fisherman

Last green before the winter came.

Bag of a happy coincidence

One morning I went to my local charity shop. I had no expectations to find anything...but there in the corner I found this beautiful flower fabric. In perfect condition. A few days later I got comissioned with a blue bag combined with flowers. And this is the result:

Skeleton Sea Project

Last month we drove all the way up to Ericeira/Portugal to be part of the Skeleton Sea Project for a week making board covers and wooden surfboards.

Sun, massive waves and galao were part of the trip. Some rain as well, heavy rain…!!!

These are the results of a week working at the Skeleton Sea Gallery:

Autumn just arrived

This board bag is full of a fresh breeze, indian summer leaves, the smell of damp soil, cackling geese and a splash of cornish sea water.

El Clásico

This cover is simply classic: White stripes on blue canvas. I can hear the chanty choir singing somewhere. Ahoy!
